Beside the Golden Circle which is a 'must do' we did Landmannalaugur & Mount Hekla. Incredible views, especially with the Superjeep. This enables you to get to places you cannot reach with a normal bike or coach.

Had a great day of sight seeing and adventure....our guide took us to all the amazing sites in the golden circle, did a bit of offroading and finsihed off with snowmobiling on a glacier.....i truly great way to start our trip. Our guide was not only very knowledgable about the ights but the history and culture of Iceland which we really enjoyed...... Really look forward to returning to Iceland and will defintely look to do more excursions with the fine people at SuperJeep!

We took a trip to visit Iceland in the fall of 2009 and had a fantastic time with our tour of the South Shore and the town of Vic,with Ragner Lovdal, of Super Jeeps,(http://www.superjeep.is/). Ragner was excellent, providing much information on the culture and country of Iceland. We traveled to see one of Iceland's black beaches, and one of Iceland's oldest towns, Stokkseyri ,founded around 900 AD. We past by many greenhouses, powered by geo thermal energy, that enables the Icelandic people to have fresh vegetables and flowers year round. We visited a number of waterfalls including: Seljalandsfoss and Skogan Falls. We could see Mt, Hekla, a very active volcano and Snaefellsjokull, the glacier made famous by Jules Verne in his book, Journey to the Center of the Earth. We were heading toward Solheimajokull glacier. We didn't get to the tongue of the glacier due to the dangerous winds. Instead, Ragner took us off road and I mean off road. After a brief ride down a gravel road, he veered off onto an earthen path with tire ruts. He kept going up and up and eventually left this "road" to blaze a trail of his own over stones, and landscape that looked like we'd taken a wrong turn and ended up on the lunar surface. Interestingly, one of the many tidbits of information that Ragner shared with us was that NASA used the terrain of Iceland to train the Apollo astronauts and when Neil Armstrong first walked on the moon, he joked that he thought he was in Iceland! Summiting the mountain of Hamragaroaheioi, we got out for a spectacular view of the Vestmannaeyjar Islands. On the way down, Ragner played Queen's "We are the Champions"-kind of appropriate as we had survived the unusual but outstanding, side excursion! Ragner gave plenty of time to explore the different stops along the tour, including a lunch break and frequent bathroom breaks. I would very much recommend a tour with Super Jeep!

Our family did a fantastic 8 day tour in July 2006, starting with the Golden Circle and then travelling anticlockwise across the south, east and finally north of Iceland. We saw some amazing sights and we all really enjoyed it. I think this was largely down to our guide, Ragnar Lovdal, who was brilliant. As well as being very experienced and knowledgeable, he was incredibly accommodating and flexible in fitting in with our routine. He was an excellent driver, on some very rough terrain and was very strict about never drinking alcohol whilst on the job.He was extremely professional and we could relax completely, knowing that Ragnar was in charge. He made great friends with our children and they had lots of fun with him, as did we. There was nothing he couldn't arrange, even down to checking the weather forecast to ensure we went whale watching on the right day (we did, the next day was cancelled because of rough seas!) My son lost his wallet, but didn't notice for several days.Ragna rang up, located it and arranged for it to be sent to Reykjavik where it was waiting for us. I can think of lots more examples.His motto is "There are no problems, only solutions"! The DVD in the car was an added bonus on the long journeys. Poor Ragnar had to endure listening to many episodes of Fawlty Towers that I brought with us! Finally, when we left, Ragnar gave us a map of our route and a CD of photos he'd taken throughout the trip. It's a wonderful record of our holiday. I'm sure we will go back to Iceland again, perhaps to see the Northern Lights.I suspect Ragnar can arrange for them to appear to order!

We had a great day out with Superjeep on our first trip to Iceland last week. Our two girls, aged 10 & 7 loved every minute of it, from trying to get in the jeep to standing behind the waterfall & seeing the volcano.
I think their best bit was being given some volcano ash Ragnar had collected in a bottle for them - they have shown everyone since we have been back and are taking it for "show & tell" at School next week!

I visited Iceland with my partner from 29 Dec '09 to 7 Jan'10. We did a wonderful private tour with Ragnar and his team in the south and north (Lake Myvatn area) of Iceland. We were a family of 6 that visitet Iceland during July last year. I got in contact with him through this website and from my first contact I realizied that he was something special. During the planning he called me several times, just to make sure we where inlined in our expectations. We arrived at the airport and where met by Ragnar himself and he drove us in his Lincon Navigator to our hotel. During this 45 min trip he arranged an extra tour to Westman islands. The Super Jeep Tour is key for anyone vacationing in Iceland. There is no need to rent a car to see the sights since a Super Jeep driver will pick you up at your hotel and get you on your way. Siggi toured my sister and me around The Golden Circle and the South Coast of Iceland. His experienced on-road and especially off-road driving capabilities drove us up a mountain, on the beach, through streams, snow and even pulled out a competitor's car that was stuck in snow. Hi Ragnar, I just wanted to say a huge thank-you for making my stay in Iceland from 29/07 to 06/08 so memorable. Indi, Ingi and Axel are great drivers, awesome guides and even better to know. Please pass on my thanks to them for showing me around and sharing their enthusiasm for all things Icelandic! It's hard to pick out any particular highlight, but the chance to visit Hekla has to be one of them. Ever since I was a *very* small kid when I got my first book of volcanoes complete with glossy photos of Hekla erupting, I've always wanted to see the mountain - and thanks to Ingi I got very close indeed. On a personal note thanks also for sorting out alternative arrangements for my trip to Snaefellsnes and with my other trips. Everything worked out perfectly and Jane, my guide to the Peninsula, was superb. What an incredible experience!! This was a fantastic tour in one of the best equipped landrovers i've ever seen. Our guide Dorri (I think i've spelled that correct) was really friendly and knowledgable as well as being a very skilled driver when it came to plowing through the snow and negotiating the icy roads. The sights were amazing....gulfoss and strokkur in the cool snowscapes and the snowmobilling across the glacier was awe inspiring. The best money we spend on the whole trip. My friends and I went on the Golden Circle trip and we had the absolute best time! Doing this trip by superjeep especially in winter is the only way to do it. The fact the jeeps have the ability to go where a coach can not is totally worth the extra money. The trip out onto the glacier was just amazing. I can't recommend this trip highly enough.

Ragnar is wonderful. He is the prefect person to show you Iceland. We had three marvellous days on the south coast, at Gullfoss and Geysir and of course in Reykjavik. The brave in our party walked on glaciers and skidded down icy slopes. The timid like me simply drank in the wonderful views and life in Iceland. For me the highlight was gullfoss and the amazing beaches on the South Coast near the charming viillage of Vik. I hope to be back very soon.
